Mockery
In the world of eschatology (the study of last things) someone has said that there seems to be no mockery, except against the Pre-Tribulation Rapture doctrine. I know of one person who holds to that position yet he mocks and scoffs at the other viewpoints. Here is my point: I cannot name you two. It does seem that the Pre-Tribulation idea is mocked and ridiculed while almost none of the other end-time viewpoints are. How very interesting.
While I personally do not hold 100% to that idea (The Pre-Trib Rapture), it seems that there is almost a satanic venom against it. You can almost smell the devil's rage at something (that is somewhat subjective). It makes me wonder, What is going on? Why the animosity? Why not a hellish hostility against Post-Trib philosophy? I almost never see that. Satan's anger is so particular sometimes, it makes me stop and ask, Why? I was not going to insist that the Bible teaches adamantly a certain thing such as Pre-Trib. for instance, but then I see the enemy's hatred and I ask, What is going on here?
Can we reverse engineer the devil's hatred and then come to truth? No, I do not believe so. However, I think we can obtain a degree of confirmation about some doctrines. When we see a supernatural opposition to a doctrine we have to ask, What does satan know that we do not?
In my opinion, I see something similar in his opposition to the Trinity. I know why he hates that one. He wants to be like the Most High (Isa 14:14). He does not want to destroy God. He wants to be like Him. He wants to be part of the Godhead. Why do I sense the same hatred to the Pre-Trib rapture? I do not know.
When I sense a satanic rage against a certain doctrine, I stop and pay attention. For some reason, the devil has just cast a vote against a certain doctrine. That is a red flag. It might be a warning to turn around and examine more thoroughly what he hates.
...He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44)
Jesus said there is no truth in satan. He is the inventor of taking what God says and proclaiming exactly the opposite. He is the inventor or the father of lying. He must speak the opposite of the truth. So much so that it is almost reliable to reverse what he says and the result is the actual fact. Even so, while the opposite of what he says is nearly the fact, that is not our source of truth.
Our source is
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Matt 4:4)
