“You're Not Supposed To Be Here”
When our three children were small our family had an outing at Balboa Park in San Diego, California. We saw the zoo and museums that are a part of the park. There was a large pedestrian bridge that leads out into a spacious, grassy area. We decided to walk in this pleasant, open area. This was not private property. This area was also part of the Park.
For some reason my attention was drawn to a Middle-Eastern looking man walking in our direction although he was a good distance away from us. I looked around at the scenery for a moment. When I looked straight ahead again, I was startled because the man was standing right in front of me. He was a handsome, young adult man dressed in typical, casual American style clothing. He addressed me directly, not the family, and said,
You are not supposed to be here. It is not safe. Take your family and go back there.
He pointed to the part of Balboa park that we had just come from. Then the man continued walking into the area that he warned us to avoid. I never saw him again.
I said, “Kids, we are going back to the zoo area.”
What a strange incident. We did not get shot. We did not get robbed. We actually had a pleasant day at the park. Did God send a heavenly messenger to warn us of danger?
