6-6-6
To the Church in Philadelphia
7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; ...
10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
11 Behold, I come quickly: (Rev 3)
In the prophetic book of Revelation that John wrote, Jesus says to one of the seven churches that He will keep them from the hour of trial or testing that will try the whole earth. This testing is not intended for the child of God but for them that dwell upon the earth. However, He does not make this promise to just anyone at just any point in time, only to one church, Philadelphia, the sixth church. If we consider the Book of Revelation to be a prophecy, the sixth Church is a future season. Even though the churches named actually existed during the first century, they were part of Roman mail route. They were in order along an ancient Roman travel road. This suggests the future seasons that they pointing to are in chronological order. Hence, the first, second, and so forth. There is strong suggestion that the future deliverance comes in the sixth of a series of something.
While Jesus promises persecution (John 16:33) that comes because of His name, He promises to remove some, the sixth church, from something that is aimed at the whole earth. These are, no doubt, the 7 catastrophe trumpets and the 7 vial judgments that are coming upon the earth. They are designed to shake out the very last person that will repent of their evil ways. It would be more noble to come to God because of seeing His goodness (Rom 2:4) but if that fails to work, God in His kindness will squeeze out the earth one last time until there is no such thing as repentance left in the world.
At the sixth seal (Rev 7:9) we see an innumerable company of resurrected persons. Where could could such a crowd, that cannot be counted, come from? No doubt, these are from a mass resurrection of the faithful from all generations. The next mass resurrection that I know of comes from our gathering together unto the Lord Jesus (2 Thess 2:1).
There is some indication that the 7 seals are contained within Daniel's 70th week, perhaps one per year on an average. We might be able to say that the Rapture occurs in the time of the sixth Church, at the sixth seal, in the sixth year of the 70th week (the final 7 years).
Sixth Church – A Scriptural fact
Sixth Seal- A probable time frame according to Revelation 6
Sixth Year – A speculation
Wait! Isn't 6-6-6 an ominous, evil thing?
I went into a Love's travel stop to get a coffee and something else to eat. The total was $6.66. Horrified, the clerk changed the price of my snack a few cents less so that the total would be any amount other than $6.66.
Three sixes are not evil. 6-6-6 is not six hundred sixty and six. The number 666 is the sum of the letter value (in Greek) of the man of sin's name that the Beast from the sea (Rev 13:1) controls. John the apostle is said to have warned about using this method for identifying the man of lawlessness before the end times. When it is quite likely that we are seeing the very end time events, then we can use this mathematical method to help confirm that this is indeed the final Antichrist.
Why might it be the sixth year?
Without developing it here, the agricultural laws of ancient Israel forbid a harvest at certain times of a 7 year set of years (shabua). Considering Daniel's 70th week to be the final 7 years of God's dealings with human government, this shows us something important. If we consider the agricultural laws to mean anything, this eliminates a Pre-shabua harvest. It eliminates a Post-shabua harvest also. That means that the harvest (Rapture) would have to occur in the fall season at some point during the first 6 of the final 7 years. The harvest could not be during the planting season or during the Sabbath year or the Jubilee year.
And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. (Mark 13:20)
God is going to shorten the days of trial. Things get progressively worse until the end. This sets the stage for Jesus' dramatic entry and rescue of Israel. Judgment and difficult things have to continue right up to the very end of the 70th week. So, where is the shortening of those days? It is at the other end or, in other words, delay in starting the difficult times in the first place. The shortening of those days is at the other end. Delay. Those who do not consider Jesus' commands to watch are not going to even be aware that the markers for the final 7 years have even started. People will be asleep and not know when “the tribulation” starts because those days will be relatively routine for many.
“The Tribulation” is likely going to be:
Delay.......................................................bang-bang-bang-bang- the end!
Actual judgment from God will probably be very short and intense. It is called “the hour” of trial, not 7 years long.
But I don't want to go through the tribulation. I don't want inconvenience. My pastor and teachers have told me I don't have to worry about any difficulty.
Jesus commands us to watch. I think that might allow some speculation. Regarding a certain date as possible or likely for the Rapture is allowed, even encouraged. But setting a date has always led to disappointment. “The Lord told me _____ , regarding the Rapture”, has been a deception in every case, to this point at least. I think some spirits love to mess with certain people who want to be prophets. Some people want to be given access to special information. Evil spirits are more than willing to supply them with intriguing information.
Let's be very clear about this being fairly Scripturally sound but still speculative at this point.
Let's be watchful for the time of the sixth prophetic Church at the sixth seal in the sixth year of Daniel's 70th shabua of 7 years.
