Deliverance Testimony

In preparation for a special outdoor meeting I was in prayer for three days with fasting. During the second or third day of the fast I was with a fellow preacher in his home. He was sitting on the living room floor listening to a cassette tape. I remember the incident distinctly. The words of the song were:

Way down in Egypt's land
When at the Lord's command
The death angel of the Lord, he passed right on thru.

Now the Lord did say that day,
"As I go on My way
"When I see the blood
"I'm gonna pass right over you!"

And then the chorus kept repeating:

I'm covered by the blood
Yes, I'm covered by the blood
I'm covered by the blood of the Lamb.
You know, all my sins are past
Beneath the cross I've cast
I'm covered by the blood of the Lamb!

At that moment I saw a figure standing in front of this preacher and to his left. The image of the being was not real clear but I saw exactly where he was standing and his outline. In his hands was something like a large basin or bowl. I watched as he poured the contents of the bowl directly over the head of my friend. Instantly he went rigid, fell over backwards, his back arched up off the floor. There came a scream out of his belly that seemed to last for over a minute. His body then relaxed completely and he awoke in a state of peace and joy. No doubt, a miracle of deliverance worked by the hand of God through a heavenly messenger! This incident also did some damage to my theology but the work in my friend's life was glorious!

Let us give thanks to the Father for the power of the shed blood of Jesus. It has purchased for us a salvation far greater that any of us can now comprehend.

This incident also illustrates another truth: In many meetings the POWER is divine while the MANIFESTATION can be demonic. The power of God will stir up demons many times. To judge the power source by the manifestation is like saying that Philip's revival in Samaria was of the devil (Acts 8). You cannot see a tornado, really, until it touches down and picks up dirt and debris. Often the first time we become aware of the power of God in a meeting is when we become aware of the presence of unclean spirits. We fail to realize that demons are manifesting - not because they are in control, but because the Greater One is present and is tormenting them! Praise to our Lord Jesus for pouring out His soul's blood for our redemption.
